Before the instructions, please consider the following requirements for RAID
setup:
- All drives must be at least 4 TB in size.
- RAID5 requires at least 3 drives and RAID6 requires at least 4 drives to create.
- The NVR must be in Quota mode instead of Group mode. This can only be
adjusted on the local monitor. This is the default mode of Platinum recorders,
but if the option to enable RAID doesnʼt appear, this may be the reason.
Creation of the RAID array can be done through the local monitor or the browser.
Local Monitor Instructions
1 Navigate to the Storage Management Menu
2 In Storage Management, navigate to Storage HDD and then enable Array mode. This will reboot the recorder.
3 After the reboot, navigate back to Storage HDD and the Array Management tab. Click + Create in the top left and a side bar menu will appear. Give a name to the array, select the RAID type, and then select the drives that will be used for the raid.
4 After the RAID is created, it will be formatted and can be recorded to.
Browser Instructions
1 Navigate to Storage Management and then Advanced Configuration. Toggle the Enable Raid option at the top and then click save. This will reboot the recorder.
2 After reboot, navigate to Storage Management and then Physical Disk under Array Management. Click on Manual Array Configuration.
3 A side menu bar will appear, fill in the information for the array name, the type of raid, and the drives to be used. Click Save at the bottom afterwards to finish creating the array.
4 Navigate to Array to check on the status of the RAID. If normal, the storage can be used.
