PT CLOUD SETUP
What To Expect
From this article, you will learn what PT Cloud is and how to set it up. This article covers one of three methods on setting up PT Cloud, using the local recorder instead of the browser or NVMS7000 PC client.
What is PT Cloud?
In short, PT Cloud is a remote access feature available in most LTS Platinum devices. Traditionally, users would port forward their recorders on their routers in order to see them on their computers or phones off-site. Today, PT Cloud offers all of the benefits of port forwarding without the troubles of actually port forwarding. This means that you do not need access to your router and setup is as easy as a few clicks.
In regards to how it works, PT Cloud utilizes a Peer-to-Peer, or P2P, computer network that uses a distributive architecture. LTS devices use a secure communication channel connected to the P2P server in order to setup remote access.
Keep in mind that PT Cloud is not a replacement for NVMS7000. It is an alternative to set up remote access without port forwarding.
PT Cloud Limitations
We recommend you keep the following limitations in mind if you are considering using PT Cloud;
1. Devices may only be added onto one primary account. You cannot add devices to multiple LTS Connect accounts unless you share them from the main account.
2. The P2P server has a regional limitation based on the region or country.
1. Router or Modem with an internet connection
2. Platinum LTS recorder that supports PT Cloud
3. A personal computer or mobile device
